Please note: The spirit store is operated by BSN Sports. Wyncote Academy does not set the prices of merchandise, and the school does not receive any proceeds from sales. The store simply provides an opportunity for families, students, staff, alumni, and supporters to purchase Wyncote Academy apparel and accessories.

Message from the Guidance Office

As part of our transition planning and college/career readiness programming, Wyncote Academy will be hosting a series of postsecondary seminars throughout the fall. Representatives from colleges, technical schools, and career training programs will visit Wyncote Academy to share information about educational and career opportunities available after high school.

Please see the attached flyer for dates, participating programs, and areas of study. We encourage families to review these opportunities and discuss them with their child.

Back to School Night Recap

Thank you to everyone who attended our Back-to-School Night. For families who were unable to join us, we wanted to share a brief summary of the information presented.

Our Shared Commitment

Individualized Student Support

Our programs are designed to meet the diverse needs of our students, including those with:

• Social-emotional and behavioral needs

Supports include personalized instruction, counseling, executive functioning support, behavior interventions, self-regulation strategies, and ongoing progress monitoring tied to IEP goals.

Our climate program focuses on creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where students are treated with dignity and respect. We emphasize social-emotional learning, accountability, resilience, and positive relationships.

Student Recognition Through LiveSchool

Families were encouraged to monitor student progress through LiveSchool, which tracks positive behavior, participation, and school-wide expectations.

Special Education and Student Support

Our multidisciplinary team works closely with families to ensure the implementation of IEPs, accommodations, modifications, and related services. We utilize data-driven decision making to monitor academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth while promoting student self-advocacy and independence.

Guidance and Transition Planning

Counseling and guidance services support students' social-emotional well-being, resilience, self-management, and healthy relationships. Transition planning helps students prepare for postsecondary opportunities including college, trade schools, employment, and independent living.

Halloween Trip Reminder

This is a reminder that we are gauging student interest in attending Valley of Fear Haunted Attractions on Thursday, October 22, 2026. Students do not have school the following day.

Trip Highlights:

• Students will remain at school after dismissal, receive dinner, and travel to the attraction by bus.
• Families will be responsible for picking up students from Wyncote Academy after the trip. Please note that students have returned as late as 10:30 PM in previous years.
• Students may bring spending money for souvenirs or concessions.
• Estimated cost is $43-$65 per student, depending on attendance and group rates.

If your child is interested in attending, please reply to this email by October 8, 2026. If you have already emailed us previously, you do not need to do so again.
